Arcserve Hypervisors
Agentless backup for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V
Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) is a next-generation architecture that allows you to protect your physical and virtual environments with a single, unified solution.
Offering enterprise-class data recovery testing capabilities and tremendous ease-of-use, Arcserve UDP ensures:
- Fast agentless backup for vSphere and Hyper-V host environments
- Auto-discovery of VMs via integration with vSphere and Hyper-V APIs
- Application-aware backup and restore of Exchange, SQL, and Oracle data with log purging
- Efficient backup and restore, leveraging changed block tracking (CBT) and global deduplication
- Granular recovery of files and folders from within each VM
- Support for the latest technologies, such as vSphere 6, VSAN, VVOLs, and Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V 3.0
- Backup transport mode switching (NBD, NBDSSL, SAN, etc.) for VMware vSphere
- Transparent support for offline VM backups, live VM migrations, and cluster failovers
- High availability, hypervisor cross migration, and physical to virtual migration capabilities (P2P, P2V, cross-hypervisor V2V, and V2P require the Arcserve High Availability option)
VMware vSphere agentless backup
Need to protect the critical business data in your VMware vSphere virtual server environments?
Arcserve UDP provides periodic, image-based system, application, and data protection for Windows and Linux™ servers, featuring:
- Changed block tracking—copying only the changed or used blocks of each virtual disk
- Live VM failover of the backup image
- Replication to remote locations—remote offices, DR sites, MSPs, or the cloud
- Recovery point conversions in VHD or VMDK formats on the LAN or through a WAN, depending on your chosen topology
Arcserve UDP gives you the tools—and confidence—to:
- Recover applications quickly
- Significantly improve performance
- Reduce overall storage requirements
Microsoft Hyper-V agentless backup
Arcserve UDP protects the critical data stored within your Microsoft Hyper-V environments, leveraging:
- Host-based backup plan that specifies the nodes you want to protect, the backup destination, and the backup schedule
- Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) changed block tracking
- Global deduplication
- Efficient backup to your chosen local destination, remote share folder, or recovery point server
The resulting backup session format is identical to Arcserve UDP client backups and host-based backup of VMware VMs.
And, the end result?
- Reliable protection of your host-based virtual machine nodes
- Improved backup and restore performance
- Reduced overall storage requirements
